UpScore's Service Privacy


Purpose of UpScore's measurement


Upscore conducts measurements on behalf of website operators to determine the attractiveness of the content they offer on their websites. As a result, our clients receive information about especially:

  • the number of views on each content item in total
  • when these views were made and how long the average dwell time is
  • through which channels and device types the contents were accessed

The UpScore measurement does not require or use any personal data . The UpScore measurement is content-related and not user-related.


Technical basis

UpScore uses a Javascript integrated into an HTML document as part of the content delivery to analyse a page visit anonymously. Within the scope of the survey, single views are aggregated to total numbers, which provide statistical information about the attractiveness of the content. The objects of that analysis is the content of the provider, e.g. that a specific article has been viewed 1,000 times.


Collected data

The aggregation of the calculated key performance indicators according to various criteria is carried out in relation to the single content and does not use personal data at any time. Profiling does not take place.


No storage of IP addresses

IP addresses of website users are only used to receive the measured data on the server side. The IP addresses are deleted immediately and are not stored.


No use of cookies

UpScore does not use cookies for its measurements.


Usage and storage period

The data aggregated by UpScore can be accessed by the client as the respective website operator and is password protected. Aggregated data on content attractiveness is stored for up to 13 months.


Your Rights

In case of the assumption that the processing of data violates data protection law or that data protection rights have been violated in any other way, the website user can file a complaint with the supervisory authority.
